Hey. Hi. Hello.
I started this blog 5ish years ago without any idea of what I could offer as a gift to the world. What perspective could I bring that might move another human on a journey to wholeness? As it turns out, us humans have a lot to offer one another simply by our own stories.
In case no one has told you lately, your story matters! You matter. You have much to offer this world, but not in exchange for guilt or shame. Perhaps you have allowed others in, only to have paid a high price for your vulnerability. Oof, I’ve been there too.
My hope is to use this space to encourage YOU to find freedom from fear-based living and approval of humans. Ya know, that thang we call people-pleasing. I’m an expert on it – with several years experience. In recent years, I learned it is a defense mechanism to keep me safe. It is an indication I am operating out of survival mode (the brain’s response to a threat by way of “fight, flight, freeze or fawn” or appease) rather than in my purpose to thrive!
The Journey to Wholeness is not about achieving, earning or striving. Instead, it is about learning to accept yourself for who you are and who you are becoming. It’s moving toward “being” and away from “doing.” After all, we are human beings and not human doings.
In This Space
I wrote a list of topics to talk/write about in 2021 and I like to talk a lot, but I promise to keep my posts between 400 and 700 words. I realize you have a life. Plus, I’m in grad school full-time. Be with me, Holy One of Israel. My hope is to start a podcast one day, so all you have to do is push play.
- stigma of mental illness
- understanding abuse + trauma
- creating healthy boundaries
- accepting grace in motherhood
- building connection in marriage
- soul care & daily rhythms
My reason for sharing my story is so you might feel a little less alone. Whether you are wrestling with the past, present or future, you and your story are welcome here. May we be mindful of our thoughts, kind to our bodies and gentle with our souls. ~Julianne
Have you forgotten? You are more than what you do. You are more than what you say. You are more than enough each and every day.julianne
