I started a new book today. Let me rephrase that. I am going to start a new book, and it arrived in the mail today! It’s called Move On. I haven’t started it yet (haven’t really started this naked writing thang either). The book couldn’t have come at a better time. There are definitely some things in my life that need to Move On.
Like today for example. I’d love to have a do over, but instead I’m just gonna move on, as if I have a choice. I kinda do, in my head.
It wasn’t a super dramatic day, thank goodness ‘cuz I’m super tired and my body needs to climb in bed which means this post is gonna be short! Who am I kidding? I have a feeling that’s gonna become the trend. This writing everyday thing is hard! I guess that’s why it is called a challenge.
My Day! Let me see, where do I begin? It started out awesome actually. I slept in, didn’t get a shower, arrived late to my mom’s group, first one. I got my morning coffee and sat around a table with some other moms and let.me.see. I got to share my obsession with athletic socks and the importance of keeping the right ones with the left ones because you know, that’s super important.
Yeah so that perfectionism thing. I practiced sharing some of my issues around that table. I think it’s preparing me to get through these next 31 days, eh em, 27. It helped that they shared too, but I’m keeping that part under wraps ‘cuz I’m not that kind of friend + don’t wanna get banned.
I’m super excited to read this book and talk it out with my mom friends.
Oh wait, that’s not the part of my day that needed me to just move on ^except for that late part. Jeez Julianne.
It was when I got a voicemail and then that text. “Hi Julianne. Did you forget about your assignment at [Name of School]???” < yeah so three question marks.
Umm, I’m sorry, what assignment? Do I have something due? I’m pretty sure I graduated the 5th grade, except I didn’t actually say that. I got my butt in the car and went to work, late. I felt super bad. Thankfully, they were understanding because it’s not something I normally do, in case you were wondering.
I’m just gonna leave it at that. Like I said, I’m tired. Tomorrow is another day. Time to move on.
This is Day 4 of a 31-day series on writing naked. You can find the series in its entirety HERE.
This does not involve the removal of actual clothing. So please! keep them on!
