The name Julianne means youthful. One of my favorite sayings is youth knows no age. My hope is not for the meaning of my name to take me well into my nineties, but that the joy in my heart from the father above will keep me on my feet in my converse shoes with a hop, skip and a jump. Hang in there while I catch my breath and don’t let me lose you yet.

As you will come to find out, this girl is well aware that life can be hard and at times unbearable, but God is good [all the time] and hope is always within reach. He knows your name. Out of all my brothers and sisters-ten to be exact, my parents left a blank space on my birth certificate where one might consider a middle name. I learned early on to leave that space alone after receiving a document stating my new name: Julianne None Powers. I have yet to choose an official middle name and will eventually-just like my grandmother did, Delores Jean. Her first name means sorrow, but her middle name means God is Gracious. I love that because in our sorrow God is gracious. If you are going through a crappy time right now, God not only sees you and hears you, but he knows your name. I love this old song He Knows My Name written by Tommy Walker.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
