My heart is to offer hope + encouragement to the teen mom, the single or married mom, the stay-at-home or working mom, the mom of preschoolers or the mom who feels like she’s losing her child to adulthood and everything in between. I entered motherhood at the age of seventeen as a single mom. I became a married mom when my daughter was six years old. Eventually, I became a SAHM. Currently, I am a part-time working mom. Last summer, I became a mother of the bride! and am now a mother-in-law. I am entering the teen years again as a mom to middle schoolers. Be with me Lord Jesus. I am looking forward to the possibility of someday becoming a GRAND mom.
All this to say, I can relate to moms! Being a mom is an important relationship. I don’t like to call it a job because jobs require roles, responsibilities and expectations. Moms already burden their lives with lengthy to-do-lists. As for the role of a mother, it is to simply be herself, the way God wired her to be.
Have you forgotten? You are more than just a mom. You are more than what you do. You are more than what you say. You are more than enough each and every day. Have you forgotten? You are a daughter of the King, the one Most High—the one who sent Jesus who was crucified. Have you forgotten? He made you just the way you are. He sees you. He knows you. He is never out of reach. He is never too far.
—A Sometimes Forgetful Mom
